Strawberry Picking Puppy | Nonsan Strawberry Festival

Did you know that in Korea strawberries are a winter/spring fruit? For me, strawberries have always been tied to summer in the UK—eating them by the punnet and in Eton mess while soaking up the August sunshine. So it felt a little surreal to be munching on big, juicy berries in March.
The Nonsan Strawberry Festival was heaven for a strawberry lover like me: cheesecake, hotteok, mochi… (sadly, no tiramisu that day, but I think I made up for it by eating my body weight in strawberries inside the polytunnels). We made a wish with giant strawberries to hang on the arch before boarding the coach to the strawberry farm. We were taught how to spot the ripest berries and pick them properly, though honestly, the hardest part was not eating them all at once.
And then came the puppy. 🐾 During our downtime (or recovery time) I spotted this tiny ball of chaotic energy. I spent the rest of my free time playing with her on the ground, snapping photos, and grinning like an idiot as she nipped and tugged on my already ripped jeans.
Sunshine, strawberries, and puppies… what more could a person ask for?
